Connecticut.

Connecticut, by David Zeitlin.

Connecticut was the fifth state to enter the Union.  Its nicknames are the “Constitution State” and the “Nutmeg State.”

Connecticut is only the 48th largest state in the Union in geographical size, but it is the 29th most populous state in the Union with 3.4 million residents.

Connecticut has the highest per capita and median household income in the United States!

Did you know that Connecticut is home to the oldest U.S. newspaper still being published: The Hartford Courant, established in 1764?!

Connecticut is home to the first hamburger (1895), Polaroid camera (1934), helicopter (1939), and color television (1948)!!!

Here is the Connecticut state flag:

State Capitol:  Hartford

State Song:  Yankee Doodle!

State Motto:  “Qui Transtulit Sustinet.” I believe that is Latin.

State Bird:  The Robin

State Flower:  Mountain Laurel

State Tree:  White Oak

State Poker Beast:  ME.

I Just shipped another 57k by chopping the 2k Foxwoods Megastack (with overlay)!

I approve of and endorse the following nicknames:  “King of Connecticut,” “The CT Assassin,” “Mr. Overlay,” “SugBot,” “The Shippy Shoomaker” and “Sugzilla.”  Or you could just call me the man.  Thank you.

PS:  Janeen just chastised me for being too cocky.  In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m kidding around.  I know that I’m running insanely hot right now and haven’t mastered the universe.

Woods bound again.

Lock Update:  I have started to do some grinding on Lock Poker.  I am in the process of making a large deposit with them, so if anyone wants to get started playing on there I can make your life easy by transferring you Lock funds for cash/check/funds on another site. Don’t hesitate to ask. If you already play online poker, or even if you just want to test the waters for the first time, I hope you will play with me on Lock.  This is an open challenge to all comers… Sug D is ready for you!

I final tabled the very first MTT I played on there.  The ending was disappointing, though.  Fellow Lock Pro Kyle Bowker took it down.

9th place. doh.

9th place. doh.

In other news, I’m headed up to Foxwoods later today to play in their Summer Megastack Series.  My friend Felix “MC” Mok is the defending champion!  I’ll be playing the $300 Event (Tuesday) and the $2000 Event (Thursday) but will be skipping Saturday’s $500 Event so that I can host my July 4th BBQ out on Long Island.  Better late than never!

I’ve been asked by a few people where the rest of my WSOP main event story is.  The answer is “I don’t know.”  Between Foxwoods, Lock Poker and football 2009 prep, I’m a busy man these days.  We’ll see.

Time to get that Wampum.

Decent Week.

My week:

-Vacationed with Janeen and Ruthie on Block Island.  We relaxed in the sun on some beautiful beaches and watched our puppy go totally bonkers in the sand and surf.

-Parted ways with the ladies and took a ferry to New London CT.  Reported to Mohegan Sun to play the 2k Main Event.  Discovered it had a huge overlay.

-Won the tournament (actually I chopped but I signed for first and got the trophy, etc.).

It was my second biggest score ever.  I won a huge pot at the start of the final table that gave me a massive chip lead, then I applied just enough pressure from there to maintain it.  The tourney whittled its way down to myself and three excellent players, and we quickly agreed to an equity chop.  I got 136 grand.

Remember when I said that being short stacked is like having puny genitals?  Well actually winning one of these tournaments feels like this:

*not safe for work or people who don’t like songs about penises.

Ship it.
